Celebrating Women's Day with Fun and Games at Mikabriel Primary School

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. At Mikabriel Primary School, we believe in instilling the values of equality and respect from a young age. This year, we celebrated Women’s Day with a day filled with fun, games, and activities designed to honor the women in our lives and teach our students about the importance of gender equality.
We started with a talk about why Women’s Day is important. The kids learned about women who did amazing things. The teachers told them to think about the women they know who are special – like their moms, grandmas, and teachers.
Then, it was time for games!
Lemon and Spoon Race: This game required a steady head and careful balance. Students carefully carried lemons on spoons on there mouth, racing to the finish line without dropping their precious cargo. It was an amazing display of concentration and determination.
Bottle Filling with Sand:
Steady hands was the key to success in this activity. Students competed to fill bottles with sand as quickly as possible. It was a great way to encourage collaboration and communication.

Tug of War: The ultimate test of strength and teamwork! Two teams where formed women vs men and they all gave it all in the tug of war. It was a competitive and energetic contests.
Throughout the day, the atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of friendship. Students not only had a blast playing games but also learned valuable lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and the importance of celebrating women’s achievements.
