Mikabriel Primary School Students Visit NMB Bank

A Fun Day Out: Mikabriel Kids Learn About Money at NMB Bank!

It was a super exciting day for the pupils in Class 5 and 6 from Mikabriel Primary School! They put their school books away for a few hours and went on a special trip to learn about something very important: money. Their classroom for the day was NMB Bank!

The friendly people at NMB Bank greeted the students with big smiles. The kids were curious and ready to learn how a bank works.

The NMB Bank team explained everything in simple, easy-to-understand ways. Here are some of the important things the students learned:

  • What is a bank? They learned that a bank is a safe place to keep your money. It’s much safer than keeping it under a bed or in a jar!
  • Why save money? The bankers explained that saving money helps you get what you want later. If you want a new bike, a storybook, or want to help your family, saving is the first step. They also talked about why it’s important to save your money in a bank – it’s safe and can even grow!
  • How saving works: The students learned about opening a bank account. An account is like your own special box at the bank with your name on it. When you put money in, it’s called a ‘deposit’. When you take money out, it’s called a ‘withdrawal’.
  • Tips for saving money: They got helpful tips on how to save money that they can start using right away.
  • Using an ATM: The students saw how to use an ATM machine to take out money and do other things.
  • Filling out forms: They learned a useful skill: filling out forms. This included how to fill out withdrawal and deposit forms – important for bank visits.
  • Digital money: They learned about digital exchange, which means how money moves electronically, like on phones.
  • Money exchange rates: They learned a bit about money exchange rates, which is about how much one type of money is worth compared to another.
  • What is Forex trading? They even got a simple introduction to Forex trading, which is about buying and selling different types of money.
  • Bank tools: They saw how different things work inside a bank, getting a real look at what happens every day.

This trip was more than just a fun day out of school. It was an important lesson for life. Teaching kids about saving money when they are young helps them become smart adults. It helps them understand how valuable money is and why it’s good to plan for the future.

A big thank you to Mikabriel Primary School for setting up this great trip. And a special thank you to NMB Bank for welcoming the students and teaching them these valuable lessons.

The students left the bank with new ideas and big smiles. They are now ready to become a generation of smart savers!
